Ruined due to sickness. Time to puke more.

Just wondering.. Mar. 26th, 2008 @ 11:59 pm
Am I the only one who thinks that Cedar Creek Church seems like a cult?

I was raised catholic and I know that worshipping god should be less happy.

Well, day I am hoping for... our taxes to come back with a positive balance.

We saw some goooooood movies over the weekend:
Pink Floyd's "The Wall"
and
Michel Gondry's "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind"

I've been meaning to watch The Wall for ages now. I must say that it was... depressing. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind on the other hand was one of the best movies I've seen in awhile. I really liked it. It redeemed Jim Carey for me, which is no small feat considering some of the rubish he has put his name on.

Work is moving along although I wish I could shake this feeling of always being behind. I'm starting to think that I'll always feel behind and should just accept it. Time will tell on that one.

I just wanted to post this for lunchtime...
I normally eat this for lunch:

But since I have given up pop (no, not for lent) for awhile and I'm trying to be healthy, today for lunch I have this:

and this

Also, I am going to shave soon so I can photograph my face daily for Josh. If you know Josh you won't question this.

This has been your moment of Jeff.

Well things are moving right along.

The house sold.
I have a new car now. (Finally!)

I am just trucking along with my class load.

The house is getting some cool upgrades - new wiring, and new furniture.

I really need a pimp computer desk, but no ideas just yet...

I'm playing WoW every great once in awhile - if any one wants to play I'm on Wildhammer (Horde) and Stormreaver (Ally).

B and I went to the Microsoft TS2 launch for Windows Server 2008. The launch was funny and kinda a bust, but we had great fun with our Steve Balmer Visa cards and stopped by the old stomping grounds for some hot dogs.

Erin and I are really enjoying making plans for a vacation sometime soon - we are looking at Vegas or Palm Springs. Votes?

Work is slow but that is only because most of my students are waiting for their books to be delivered. I'm teaching 18 credit hours but miss that damned High School still. Two in person and three distance learning. My office is at the Scott Park campus (FA 1400) and I hold my hours there from 11:40 ~ 2:00 PM Tuesdays and Thursdays - I'm also often down in BSL 1070 which is my lab. Stop in if you're around!

Speaking of the lab... I've been in this room for years and the maintainance just turned off the blowers to this building and it is creepy how quiet it is. In fact, its bad enough I am going to leave to go home now.

Stay cool won't you?

Well the offer on the house fell through. :-(
But we've got another offer now. :-)

The semester grinds to a halt - I can almost hear it when I'm at work.
The number of little extra side projects at work has now become kinda overwhelming. Luckily for me I won't have a class load for the next few weeks so I can get caught up.

I'm considering teaching quite a class load next semester. Something like 8 to 10 classes. *whew* I'll just love that.

But now its time to continue to prep the house for the new furniture that we are getting this week.

Oh and a little experiment. I write here for myself and of course the few of you who care... so please comment and tell me what else I should write about!

What's new with me?

Good question I guess.

I've been learning the ways of many new things. A new twist on married life, adapting to University politics, trying to sell that old house, and countless other minor things that are of no matter.

After 11 monthes someone put in an offer on the old house - but the dust hasn't settled yet. Hopefully, the buyers will confirm the details by the end of November.

The next major question is what to do to the new house first! I'm leaning towards upgrading the infrastructure with new pipes and structured cabling. Mmmm, fresh cabling...

I'm also in the market for a car. I want to get a used BMW but I just can't bring myself to commit to one. Maybe its the guilt of the expensive or I'm just cheap. I also can't help but think that there maybe some nice used car on some lot that I will love - I just haven't found it yet.

I've been toying with returning to school to get that last degree. The standing issue is the cost of my time to complete the program and of course... exactly what to study. I've been back and forth on a few possibilities including Educational Research & Measurement or something from the College of Business Administration. Time will tell I guess.

Time for Class!

Well all you Whitmer kids, its true - I've resigned. I'm sorry I won't have the honor of teaching you and future classes of WCNT, however it was time to move on. Carpe Diem and all that. I will continue teaching at the University of Toledo and working on side projects of the geeky nature. Please do your best and continue to learn.
